May 25, 2023 Paramount Global (as the company was known at the time) became the first corporate entity to secure custom advertising space in Roku City. In honor of Paramount+ they took over the whole neighborhood for the week of May 25-29, 2023. Roku claims there are 29 Easter Egg References. Let’s see what we can find.
We’ll start with George and Gracie swimming in front of the Golden Gate Bridge from Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986). The Nickelodeon Blimp flies above the bridge. Reptar from The Rugrats is getting ready to stomp on the Space Needle. The Space Needle is normally in Seattle, WA; Frasier (1993-2004), The Parallax View (1974), and The Ring (2002) were all set in Seattle.
Next to the Space Needle is the Empire State Building. Paramount films that feature the Empire State Building include; A Quiet Place: Day One (2024), Scream IV (2023), Sabrina (1954), and The Moon Is Blue (1953). Flying over the city is the USS Enterprise from Star Trek the Original Series (1966-1969). The island with the wolf could refer to either Teen Wolf the Movie (2023) or Wolf Pack (2023). The full moon hangs low in the sky, it could be referring to Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) or Pontiac Moon (1994).
Seal Team IV descends into the city in honor of Seal Team (2017 -2024) which aired on both CBS and Paramount+. The famous Paramount Pictures logo (used with minor changes and updates since 1914) looms over the city. Next up is the Ravenswood Generating Station. I cannot find any Paramount films or TV series featuring that New York landmark. The Transamerica Building is next in line. Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) and Zodiac (2007) both feature the famous building. Two F-14s (Top Gun 1986) fly over the Wolfpack UEFA Stadium for Paramount+’s airing of the UEFA Champions League soccer games. Next to that is the Chrysler Building which featured prominently in The First Wives Club (1996).
Next to the Chrysler Building is a building from the main Roku City scroll. It still looks familiar and I’m still not placing it. In the bay is the Island from Survior (2000 – current). Behind that is one of the headquarters of the Paw Patrol (not sure exactly WHICH iteration). Seen overhead is space station Deep Space Nine (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 1993-99) as a shuttlecraft takes off from a Starfleet facility. The Star Trek franchise has been owned by Paramount since 1967 when Gulf Western bought DesiLu Studios. Which brings us back to George and Gracie and the end of the background.

How’d we do? Is there anything we missed? Thank you to Eli M. for finding the YouTube link.
